
BIOGRAPHY
Ilya Ramlav, the virtuoso concert pianist and winner of the Rostropovich Prize in Moscow, first gained international recognition after receiving First Prize at the International Piano Competition in Paris in 2013. Since then, his musical journey has taken him across the globe, with acclaimed performances in cities such as New York, São Paulo, Moscow and Buenos Aires.
As a soloist of the Saint Petersburg House of Music, Ilya toured extensively throughout Russia, performing recitals and collaborating with leading orchestras and conductors such as Yuri Bashmet’s Russian Symphony Orchestra, Virtuosi Brazil, the Saint Petersburg State Orchestra, Saratov Philharmonic, Yaroslavl Philharmonic, Volgograd Philharmonic and the Swiss Symphony Orchestra.
Ilya has earned top prizes at international competitions, including First Prize at the 2013 Jean Françaix International Piano Competition in Paris and Second Prize at 2018 All-Russian Music Competition and 2019 Adilia Alieva International Piano Competition in Geneva. He has appeared at renowned venues such as Salle Cortot in Paris, the Great Hall of the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory, the National Concert Hall in Buenos Aires, the United Nations in Geneva, Merkin Hall, and Carnegie Hall in New York City.
He was recently featured as a guest artist at the prestigious History Makers Gala at the New York Historical Society. Other recent highlights include performances at the Moab Music Festival in Utah, with the Armenian State Philharmonic, the Buenos Aires Symphony Orchestra, and at the Patagonia Clásica concert series.
Dedicated to education, Ilya has led master classes at the Armenian State Conservatory and the Astor Piazzolla Conservatory in Buenos Aires, sharing his passion with the next generation of pianists. His performances have been broadcast internationally, including on Argentina’s National Classical Radio, NRK Television in Norway, and ATV in Armenia.
